Well I feel like two months worth of things has occurred since the last time I blogged so I'll try not to go in too much detail. Basically based on my quiet times and current circumstances God has really give me many opportunities to trust in Him. Well first before I touch bases with that I had a sweet opportunity to go to Texas and hear a very wise man name Harold Bullock speak for four days on how to have successful relationships God's way. It was some amazing information about how God really want us to love, do good, seek peace, be faithful, have mercy, do just, and be kind towards people. 7 ingredients to relationships is what Harold called it. I really felt convicted in some areas and have been meditating on scripture the past week to really see where God wants to grow me in those areas. On the flip side of the conference was getting to get together with people I spent the summer with. It was very encouraging to see their home town and church as well as just hang out. Yay for Southern Hospitality! I think they pretty much fed us every 15 minutes, I almost timed it!
As for trusting in God...
Currently I don't know if I will get to continue working at my job. This past Thursday I had a talk with my boss and there was some miscommunication between when I first got hired and to how many positions they have in my unit. I really don't know the details until tomorrow. The truth is they don't want to let me go but they have no position open or the budget to pay, I think from what my supervisor communicated to me. So tomorrow I will find out the logistics and stuff. Well when I first got the news it was not a pretty sight I mean when I went back to my cubicle I could feel the water works coming. So I tried to regroup by praying until I had my lunch break. During lunch a couple of verse popped into my head that were very comforting. First of all God owns everything and Christ is the head and rule over all authority col 2:10. Rom 8:28 all things work good for those who love God, and then God will never leave you nor will he forsake you Heb. So right then I decided that I was going to trust that God is not going to rip me off nor will he leave me. He will provide one way or another whether I stay at the job or not. The reason is because he is faithful. He has provided for me ever since I have decided to make him the Lord of my life. So this a bit of what God has been speaking to me through my current life situation. There is a list of other things but I'll spare y'all as they say in Texas.
Lastly my friend Megan and I had to planned to go see the new James Bond movie ever since we knew it was going to come out but unfortunately we have not had the chance to go because of the fires. I was kind of bummed and tempted to watch it by myself but I just couldn't do that to Megan. Well mostly my heart and prayer does go out to all those people who have been affected by the fires. Any who so tomorrow will be an interesting day to see whether or not I get to stay at my job.

Trainer!

So the Pate's did it again. Before I begin my story I will just wanted to comment a little about who the Pate's are. First of off they are both Professors at CBU and we met the begining of my sophomore year in college. You see they adopted three kids from Colombia and they needed a bilingual person to help them with their kids. I was conntect to them through Sarah's sister, Amy Stump. Any way I feel in may ways they have adopted me as I have just become part of their family. God has definietly provided for me through them. Any who I am for the most part a runner or do some sort of excersie on a weekly basis and Sarah was looking for a partner to go with her to a trainer and I was the lucky winner. So now I get to actually go to a trainer. I really enjoy working out so this is very exciting for me. He really worked us out this week so much so that my whole upper body is a killer right now. Also me an my co-worker decided to run a Humanities Race that the County of Riverside does to raise support so I will also be training with her on that.

Fall Discipleship Conference 2008
I have had the wonderful privilege of attending USC Christian Challenge Fall Conference this weekend. First of all Max Barnett was the speaker. He has been a disciple maker and I am sure a great blessing to the students at Oklahoma University for many years. I think he is now the of the Christian Challenges in Colorado but I'm not to sure on that. All I can say is boy does he have a testimony. Basically he shared with us three basic things. One, spend time to get to know God everyday. He mentioned that most of the time we seek God's hands and not his face. He shared that when he was in college he was single and that he had many dates with God and that it was in those dates where he really got to know Him. The way that he ministered in college was that he basically invited everyone to join him in getting to know God more by either sharing Christ with them or inviting them to a Bible study. I mean from what he said people would just follow join him. The second most important thing he did in college, was memorize God's word. I mean does this man know God's word, he really didn't use the Bible he just said verse after verse after verse. And not in a prideful way at all but one could see by the way that he spoke, God had really used all these passages of scripture in his life. The last thing he shared as followers of Christ we should all be discipleship makers. We are responsible to teach and do the things that Christ has command us to do. The thing I liked most about Max is that he just really encourage us to get to know God and share that with people and his life is a testimony to what he said.
Well Max was a blessing to hear but just going up to Big Bear was refreshing as well. First of all it got very chilly at night and one could see so many stars it was pretty amazing. Also to join the weather there is nothing like a nice cup of hot chocolate:). Oh and the USC college students are very interesting as well.It was encouraging to see how these students are really intention in their walks with God and are just wanting to make an impact in His kingdom. Lastly but not least I got to spend some time with Tie and Erin two amazing girls who are really intentional about their walks with God.
Oh for those of you who are interested you can hear Max,many other speaker's from the Baptist Student Union or just great men who have served God faithfully on this website called discipleshiplibrary.com. I highly recommend it there is topics just about anything.

Church Life
Currently the church that I attend is going through some changes. It is something that my heart has been desiring a long time. In a way I guess I can say the changes revolves around discipleship. You see ever since I committed my life to Christ I pretty much always have had a desire to grow it's just part of my personality, there is just so much to learn about Christ and the church and how God has made life, that it can weary the body and mind at times. Any way back to my point... Church... there are these classes that our church in a way has borrowed from Saddleback Church as well Hope Community Church that really gives us members the resource to grow wherever we may be in our walk with God. The first class is called Spiritual Maturity in which we learn the basic disciplines and how we can grow in them, with God's help throughout our lives. This class was not only refreshing but challenging at the same time because I saw that people from all different age groups and walks struggle with the same thing, how to maintain a consistent quiet time and how to be disciplined in prayer, scripture memory, and let's face it there is just so many seasons in life that sometimes it can get a bit difficult. Moving on the next class is called SHAPE this is the class I just went to this Sunday. It was about how to figure out how God has shaped us (hence the name) and really what is our individual gifting, how we can work as a community to grow, and build each other up. We were given an assignment where we have to do a self inventory to see where we have seen God use us and were we get our energy. I believe I discovered something I really enjoy doing for God's kingdom this summer. This summer I had an amazing opportunity to serve as a leader in a discipleship program put together by the Baptist Student Union called Project Impact. Basically this program is to help teach college students how to live life and do ministry all at the same time. My responsibility was to over see four girls and help them strengthen their relationship with God. This summer was definitly tough but I just loved everything about it. I love people and seeing them grow closer to God and mainly just helping them make sense of what that means. Anyway this is getting a bit long so I guess I should sum it up. I think I am very privileged to go to an amazing church were the leadership really goes out to help people not only connect with God but with each other as well.

Weekend
I got to spend it with my sister Jennifer this weekend, who I hardly get to see. We never got along in high school or when I started college. I think the reason is because we are sooo opposite. The amazing thing is that God has been mending our relationship throughout the years. Any who she took me out for dinner and we got to catch up on the things that God has been doing in our lives and were really thankful for the struggles He has brought us through. She also took me out shopping and we were able to get some good deals which I absolutely love. I am really excited to see what God will continue to do as we continue to trust in Him and begin to experience His love in our relationship.

My First Blogg!
I was convinced by some of my really good friends to start a blog so here it goes. What to say.... well I will start with a story of my current situation. I was driving home from my friends Megan's house around midnight on the 91 going west as I suddenly realize my gas pedal went out. Mind you this has never happen to me before so I kind of panic for about one second then I turned on my emergency lights and started merging toward right side of the freeway. The scary part was that I was going up hill and the velocity of the car was going down pretty quickly, any who, I managed to make it safely to the other end without getting into a wreck. I called Megan and ask for AAA number because I did not have my card with me (I had just ordered a new one), being the amazing friend that she is, she sends her dad (Marc for those of you who know him) to come and make sure I made it home safely. So now my car need to get fixed and hopefully it's nothing too expensive but hey I am alive and well, and that is soemthing to be greatful for.
